Dr Anita Sharma’s presentation on cardiac issues in women will be followed by the Annual General Meeting to which our members are invited. \nDr Sharma is the Practice Principal at Platinum Medical Centre and Senior Lecturer at the Primary Care Unit of the University of Queensland. She is a member of the Education Committee of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RACGP)\, co- author of the RACGP General Practice Management of type 2 diabetes handbook\, and serves on the Editorial Board for Medicine Today. She has a special interest in Aviation Medicine and is a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner and a Medical Review Officer for Civil Aviation Authority of Australia. \nDr Sharma’s professional interests include education of GPs registrars\, medical students and fellow GPs\, and development of education modules in Heart Failure\, Atrial Fibrillation\, Diabetes\, Osteoporosis\, Obesity\, Anaemia\, and medico-legal matters. Cardio-metabolic diseases are her greatest passion. \n\nNominations\nThe Queensland Medical Women’s Society (QMWS) is looking for new members to join the 2023 committee.
