SUMMARY:2024 Mothers Day Classic (Brisbane)
DESCRIPTION:At the Mother’s Day Classic\, we walk or run to raise funds for breast and ovarian cancer research. Fundraising for cancer research plays a pivotal role in advancing scientific discoveries\, developing innovative treatments\, and ultimately improving the lives of individuals affected by cancer. \nIn 1998 at the inception of the Mother’s Day Classic\, the relative five-year survival rate for breast cancer was 84 percent. During the time of the Mother’s Day Classic fundraising\, this statistic has now increased to 92 percent. From 2024 onwards\, the Mother’s Day Classic is going further\, by making ovarian cancer research another core focus of Mother’s Day Classic for the first time ever. \nThe Queensland Medical Women’s Society is excited to have a team in this year’s Mother’s Day Classic. To join us register via the online portal (connect to Queensland Medical Womens Society 16240) and get excited to have some serious fun! \nEvent Details: \n\nSunday 12th May 2024\nMeet at South Bank Cultural Forecourt\nInvolves a 4 or 8km (walk or run) course running from the Russell Street section of Southbank City Parklands.\n\nFor more information please check out the Mother’s Day Classic website.
