This year is the Medical Women’s International Association’s centenary.
Members of the Queensland Medical Women’s Society are automatically members of MWIA; a portion of QMWS membership fees are paid by AFMW to MWIA as affiliation fees. MWIA is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) whose mission is two-fold:
- to advocate for and empower women in medicine to achieve their full potential in all aspects of medicine, and
- to advocate for women’s health issues with the aim of improving the health of women and girls in society at large.
QMWS members can participate in the centennial activities.
- ‘100 Years in 100 Pages’.
The centennial book ‘100 years in 100 pages’ is in production and will include photos and text contributed from member countries, including Australia. It will be distributed electronically to attendees of the centennial Congress in July. MWIA would like to subsidize the cost of producing the hard copy to make it accessible to all global members. QMWS who donated over 10 USD or 10 Euro will be acknowledged in the book. - Join QMWS members at the centennial Congress to be held in New York City from July 25-28, 2019.
