Launch of the 2025 QMWS/NCWQ Bursaries
The Queensland Medical Women’s Society (QMWS) is delighted to announce the launch of the 2025 Bursaries, administered through the National Council of Women of Queensland (NCWQ) Bursary Program.
The QMWS/NCWQ bursaries are designed to support the career development of female medical students and recent graduates — a partnership that continues to grow in both interest and impact.
This year, the 2025 NCWQ Bursary Program, with the support of sponsors including QMWS, offers a wide range of bursaries to assist Queensland women with educational expenses and/or attendance at leadership and professional development events.
Among the 35+ bursaries available, five (5) are of particular relevance to medical women, offered in collaboration with QMWS:
-
QMWS & AMA Queensland Professor Tess Cramond Memorial Bursary
-
QMWS Quota Brisbane Bursary in Honour of Dr Laurel Macintosh OBE
-
NEW: QMWS Women in Radiology Bursary, sponsored by Queensland X-Ray
-
This inaugural bursary aims to encourage the engagement of women in radiology, with a focus on women’s health issues such as breast cancer, pregnancy and antenatal care, and endometriosis.
