At each AGM the full QMWS committee steps down and re-nominates for positions.
During the year the committee can elect a QMWS member to the committee when a vacancy occurs. We are delighted to introduce Dr Jennifer Schafer as our second AFMW (Australian Federation for Medical Women) representative, together with Dr Anita Sharma. Dr Schafer stepped into this role to join the new AFMW council which was elected at the AFMW AGM in November 2022.
Dr Jennifer Schafer is a general practitioner, with special interests in allergy/gastroenterology, clinical trials (coeliac disease), doctors’ health (Medical Director, Doctors’ Health in Qld, Patron UQMS) and governance (GAICD, AICGG, Chair BNPHN).
When away from work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, reading for pleasure, learning photography, and rambling walks with her dogs.
