QMWS100: Digitising QMWS History – The First Working Bee for QMWS100

On 25th January 2025, the QMWS100 Working Committee began digitising the historical contents of the QMWS suitcases at Dr Barbara Woodhouse’s clinic, preserving the society’s rich legacy. The event featured insights from Dr Catherine Yelland and welcomed journalist Bernadette Condren, who will help craft the QMWS Centennial book. QMWS100: Counting Down to 100 years

The QMWS Centennial Working Group held its final 2024 meeting, reflecting on key progress including plans for a Dr. Lilian Cooper sculpture, archival preservation, and a travelling exhibition to celebrate the organisation’s rich history. With heartfelt gratitude to members and supporters, the group looks ahead to 2025 to continue preparations for a momentous centennial celebration.

The QMWS100 centennial working group made significant strides at our September meeting, welcoming Dr. Zelle Hodge and Jane Connolly, who contributed invaluable expertise toward plans for a commemorative book and quilt celebrating medical women’s achievements. Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 1 October 2024, at 1 pm in the Emeritus Professor Mary Mahoney Boardroom, Herston Mayne Medical School.
