I am a Doctor of Medicine student who is also the Chair of the International branch of the Australian Medical Students Association (AMSA), which is a role I started after serving as the Australian National Officer for Human Rights and Peace. I am also the External Affairs Assistant for Human Rights and Peace in the International Federation of Medical Students’ Association (IFMSA). I have the privilege of representing medical students internationally at various high-level meetings, including with the UN and WHO, as well as representing Australia at IFMSA meetings around the world. One of these meetings was the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York earlier this year. I envision myself working in the humanitarian field, being involved in a combination of global health governance, advocacy, and clinical medicine. This bursary will provide me with the financial means to continue travelling internationally to attend UN, WHO and other high-levels meetings, allowing me to become a strong voice in the world of global health advocacy.
